Bukit Asam Marching Band Wins the 2024 Musi Soundsport Competition Bukit Asam Marching Band (MBBA) has once again achieved success at the largest and most important marching band competition in South Sumatra, the 2024 Musi Soundsport Competition, which took place on October 26-27, 2024, at the Dempo Jakabaring Sport City GOR in Palembang.

MBBA, part of the Bukit Asam Sports and Arts Development (PORSIBA), won the General Champion title in this competition.

Aloisius H Rahangiar, General Chairperson of PORSIBA, was proud of MBBA accomplishments and believed that in the future, MBBA, whose members were Muara Enim Regency's best youths, would highlight PTBA's commitment to the growth of marching bands in South Sumatra, both nationally and internationally.

"Fantastic and congratulations to the administrators, coaches, and members of the Bukit Asam Marching Band. Keep practicing, working, and succeeding. Do not be easily satisfied, strive for success on a global scale," he said.

Kahfi Al Furqon, Chairman of MBBA, who accompanied them during the tournament, stated that this achievement was the result of a long process. “It is hoped that this success would motivate MBBA to advance even further in the future. The process yields results," he said.

The 2024 Musi Soundsport Competition features professional judges with the Sound Sport, Drumline Battle, Street Parade and Individual Contest categories for the Elementary Class, Senior Class, and Challenge Class categories with a total prize of tens of millions rupiah of development funds.

The event, hosted by the Indonesian Drum Corps Association (IDCA) of South Sumatra in partnership with Drum Corps International (DCI) America, was attended by over 50 marching band units from several provinces, including South Sumatra, Lampung, Medan, and Riau.
